Located in southwestern Turkey, Fethiye comprises a close-knit community of beach lovers and nature explorers. As the paragliding capital, Fethiye has a rich culture of endless activities in not only in the water and on the ground, but also in the sky. Reminiscing on Fethiye and my exciting memories, I sought to shape my project around the identity and culture of Fethiye. I started off with researching and gathering a cohesive set of images both personal to my memories and representative of Fethiye’s most treasured aspects. In doing so, I started off with finding images of my favorite foods and restaurant spots such as Turkish delight and a family owned toast/juice restaurant that I used to go all the time with my sisters when I was younger. Additionally, I included some of the iconic activities of Fethiye such as going paragliding, staying at Pine Hill Hotel and Suites in Oludeniz, sightseeing all the landmarks on your morning walk, and simply just enjoying the nice breeze in your balcony and drinking cay. I wished to capture all of these activities and locations into the zoomed out visual of the coast of Fethiye. By playing around with the colors, I was able to create the effect of the green mountains [with green colored images] and the blue waters and sky [with blue colored images]. ☀️🏖🎢
